Choose Wi-Fi or add LTE service.

Next, tell the app how you want your new monitor to connect. Wi-Fi can be used by itself, or you can enable RigSentry LTE data service for cellular connectivity.

Wi-Fi Only

RigSentry LTE

Add cellular data service for another way to keep the monitor connected when suitable Wi-Fi isn't available.

Setup Troubleshooting

Having trouble connecting?

These are the first things to check if your monitor doesn't appear or pairing doesn't complete.

My RigSentry Monitor doesn't appear in the device list.
Confirm the monitor is powered on and keep your phone within a few feet of it. A new unit should boot into setup mode automatically. You can also select Scan Again in the app.
What device name should I look for?
During discovery, a RigSentry Monitor may appear with a Bluetooth name beginning with RVMONITOR- followed by a unique identifier.
Why does my phone need to be close to the monitor?
Initial setup uses Bluetooth communication between your phone and the nearby RigSentry Monitor. Keeping the devices close together helps provide a reliable setup connection.
Pairing seems stuck on “Connecting.”
Keep the monitor powered on, remain close to it and leave the RigSentry app open while pairing completes. If pairing does not complete, cancel the setup, return to device discovery and try scanning again.
Do I have to purchase LTE service?
No. RigSentry can be configured to use Wi-Fi without a RigSentry LTE subscription. LTE service is an optional connectivity choice for owners who want cellular data service for their monitor.
Can I add LTE later?
RigSentry is designed so LTE service can be managed separately from the monitor itself. If you initially choose Wi-Fi only, you do not need to purchase LTE simply to complete device setup.
