Product Basics

General questions about what RigSentry is and what it does.

What is RigSentry?

RigSentry is a dedicated RV monitoring device and mobile app designed to help RV owners remotely keep track of environmental conditions, shore power and device health.

It is especially useful for RV pet safety, but it can also help with cold-weather monitoring, humidity awareness, power monitoring and general RV peace of mind.

What does RigSentry monitor?

RigSentry monitors temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure inside the RV. It also monitors shore power status, internal battery status and device connectivity.

Who is RigSentry designed for?

RigSentry is designed for RV owners who want visibility into what's happening inside their rig while they're away. Common uses include monitoring pets, watching for loss of shore power, protecting against freezing conditions and tracking humidity.

Does RigSentry have a mobile app?

Yes. RigSentry is designed to work with the RigSentry mobile app on supported iOS and Android devices.

Monitoring & Alerts

How environmental monitoring, power monitoring and alerts work.

Can I see the current temperature inside my RV?

Yes. The RigSentry app displays current environmental information reported by the monitor, including temperature and humidity.

Can I set temperature alerts?

RigSentry is designed to let you configure alerts around monitoring conditions that matter to you, including temperature thresholds.

Will RigSentry tell me if shore power is lost?

RigSentry monitors whether external shore power is available. This can be especially useful when air conditioning, refrigeration or other important RV systems depend on external power.

What happens to RigSentry if shore power goes out?

RigSentry includes an internal battery backup so loss of external power does not immediately shut down the monitor.

The monitor can continue operating on battery power while connectivity is available.

Why monitor humidity in an RV?

RV interiors can be sensitive to moisture. Tracking humidity can help you identify conditions that may contribute to condensation, mold, mildew or musty odors.

Can I see historical monitoring data?

Yes. The RigSentry app includes historical views so you can review how monitored conditions have changed over time.

Wi-Fi & LTE

Questions about how RigSentry communicates while you're away.

Does RigSentry use Wi-Fi?

Yes. Wi-Fi is RigSentry's primary network connection. You can connect the monitor to an available configured Wi-Fi network at home, at a campground or another location.

What is RigSentry LTE service?

Optional RigSentry LTE service adds cellular connectivity for RV owners who want another way for their monitor to stay connected when suitable Wi-Fi is not available.

LTE service is sold separately from the RigSentry monitor.

Do I need LTE service to use RigSentry?

No. RigSentry can be configured to use Wi-Fi without an LTE subscription. LTE is an optional service for owners who want cellular connectivity.

Can I add LTE service later?

Yes. LTE service is managed separately from the monitor itself, so you do not need to choose cellular service simply to complete device setup.

What happens if RigSentry loses internet connectivity?

The monitor can continue measuring local conditions, but remote viewing and cloud synchronization depend on an available network connection.

The RigSentry app can indicate when monitoring data is no longer current or the device is not communicating normally.

Pet Safety

Using RigSentry to help monitor conditions when pets are inside the RV.

Is RigSentry designed for RV pet safety?

Yes. Pet safety is one of RigSentry's primary uses. It gives RV owners remote visibility into temperature, shore power and other monitored conditions while a pet is inside the RV.

Why is shore power monitoring important for pet safety?

An RV can become unsafe if air conditioning stops because external power is lost. Monitoring both temperature and shore power can provide more context than temperature alone.

What is the RigSentry Pet Safety window sticker?

The RigSentry Pet Safety window sticker lets people outside the RV know that a pet is being monitored.

A concerned passerby can scan the QR code and enter the device code printed on the sticker to access the public Pet Safety experience.

Can someone who scans my Pet Safety sticker contact me?

The Pet Safety experience is designed to give a concerned passerby a way to message the RV owner without requiring personal contact information to be printed on the window.

Does RigSentry replace responsible pet supervision?

No. RigSentry is a monitoring and notification tool. It should not be relied upon as the sole means of protecting people, pets or property.

Setup & Mobile App

Questions about getting your RigSentry monitor connected.

How do I set up my RigSentry monitor?

Power on the monitor, open the RigSentry app and begin device setup. The initial connection uses Bluetooth so your phone can discover and pair with the nearby monitor.

You can view the full RigSentry Setup Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Why does setup use Bluetooth?

Bluetooth allows your phone to communicate directly with a nearby RigSentry Monitor during the initial setup process.

What device name should I look for during setup?

During Bluetooth discovery, the monitor may appear with a name beginning with RVMONITOR- followed by its unique identifier.

Where should I place the monitor inside my RV?

Place RigSentry in the primary living area where it can reasonably represent the environment you want to monitor.

Avoid placing it directly in sunlight, immediately beside a heater or air-conditioning vent, or against a surface that may create an unusually hot or cold local reading.

Sharing & Accounts

Giving trusted people access to your RigSentry monitor.

Can I share my RigSentry monitor with someone else?

Yes. RigSentry supports device sharing so owners can give trusted family members or other people access to view monitoring information and receive alerts.

What can a shared user do?

Shared access is intended for monitoring and alerts. Ownership and purchasing actions, such as service management, remain under the owner's control.

Troubleshooting

Common things to check when something does not look right.

My RigSentry is showing offline or stale data. What should I check?
  1. Confirm the monitor is powered.
  2. Check whether the configured Wi-Fi network is available.
  3. If you use LTE, confirm service is active and cellular coverage is available.
  4. Review battery and connectivity status in the RigSentry app.
  5. If the problem continues, contact RigSentry Support.
Pairing is stuck on “Connecting.” What should I do?

Keep the monitor powered on, remain close to it and leave the RigSentry app open while pairing completes.

If pairing does not complete, cancel setup, return to device discovery and scan again.

Why is my RigSentry temperature different from another thermometer?

Temperature can vary within an RV depending on sensor placement. Sunlight, vents, heaters, windows and nearby surfaces can create localized temperature differences.

For a meaningful comparison, place both sensors near each other under similar conditions.

Shore power status does not look correct. What should I do?

Confirm external RV power is actually available and the RigSentry monitor is properly powered. If the displayed shore power state still does not match the RV's condition, contact RigSentry Support with your device ID and details about the installation.
